AN ANALYSIS OF KEY MARKET FACTORS OF THE NONWOVEN MATERIALS INDUSTRY FOR APPLICATION IN SURGICAL GARMENTS

Abstract
Because Healthcare Associated Infections (HAIs) affect hundreds of thousands of people each year with potentially lethal consequences, interested parties are looking for ways to reduce the frequency of HAIs. Surgical garments are one means to preventing HAIs and the current project researches the potential application of one company's proprietary technology for application in surgical garments. For approximately four months, secondary market research was conducted using a variety of industry and technology reports. Key market factors were examined, including consumption of nonwoven materials by global region, key players of the industry, information on industry structure, potentially competitive materials, and pricing information. Analysis of the market research highlights potential threats and opportunities for the endeavor of a new application of proprietary technology for use in surgical garments.
